Open Export in the editor header to create a finished video, an audio-only MP3, or a subtitle file from the active Timeline. Export does not consume ChatCut credits, although plan and web-duration limits can still apply.
Export video
- Add at least one clip to the active Timeline; Export is disabled when it is empty.
- Select Export → Video.
- Choose H.264/MP4 or VP8/WebM, a resolution, frame rate, and the full Timeline or marked Zone.
- Select Export and follow the queue under the header Export button.
The default is 1080p H.264. Cloud video export offers 480p, 720p, and 1080p. Manual browser video export can also offer 4K when the timeline is compatible and the device can encode the selected output. Desktop local video export offers 4K, with HDR on supported hardware.
Include captions in the video
Video export renders the active, visible captions into the picture. Turn captions on, choose the intended caption track, wait for transcription, and check the words and layout in the Viewer before starting. Hidden captions or the None preset are not included in the video image.
The styled captions in the video are part of its picture. Use Export → Subtitles as a separate output when you also need editable SRT or plain-text TXT. Open the finished video to check picture, sound, and caption placement.
Export audio
Select Export → Audio, then start the export. ChatCut creates an MP3 and ignores video tracks. Manual audio export uses browser rendering when the browser can safely process the timeline’s audio, and cloud rendering otherwise. Audio exports started from Desktop can still use cloud rendering. Keep the editor open while browser rendering runs.
Export subtitles
- Turn on captions and wait for every clip on the active caption track to finish transcribing.
- Select Export → Subtitles.
- Choose SubRip (.srt) or plain text (.txt), then export.
The exported text follows the active caption or translation track. If the tab says to turn on captions or wait for transcription, resolve that state before retrying.
